McConnell Home Inspections, LLC was established by owner, Shawn McConnell. As a husband and father of five beautiful girls, who was born and raised in Wellsboro, and settled his family in Middlebury Center, PA, Shawn has always worked in the surrounding community. Many of his past careers paved the way and prepared him to become the most qualified inspector in our area. Shawn grew up working in his family’s third generation HVAC/sheet metal business, which he also currently owns, McConnell’s Sheet Metal. Working in this capacity allowed him to learn the aspects of working inside a customer’s home at a very early age.

While working in the family business, he learned every aspect of the HVAC business first hand. This includes all types of heating: forced hot air, hot water baseboard, radiant, wood stoves, fireplaces, and chimneys, as well as other components such as air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical. Eventually he transitioned to being an independent contractor. This opened up new opportunities of working in the trades. It was during this time that he began working with a well-established electrical contractor. He then, also, became an appliance installer for a major local home store. He has since continued to work in all of these fields.

For four years he formed a partnership for a general construction company. The construction company performed many different types of jobs such as roofing, remodeling, framing additions and decks, flooring, door and window replacement, masonry and light excavation. Due to his knowledge in all of these fields, friends and family began to request his attendance at walk-throughs while looking at homes to purchase. Upon meeting with various realtors at these walk-throughs, Shawn learned that there was a need for qualified, experienced home inspectors in our area. In July 2016 he formed McConnell Home Inspections, LLC.
